Delhi–Agra-Dausa-Jaipur-Deogarh-Udaipur-Luni-Khimsar-Mandawa-Delhi
Day 1: Arrive – Delhi
Arrive Delhi. On arrival assistance and
transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Delhi - Agra
Morning, drive to Agra. On arrival check
in at the hotel. Afternoon, city tour and visit the world famous Taj Mahal
in Agra built by the Mughal Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz
Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Later visit the Red Fort and The
Tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daula built by Empress Noor-Jehan in memory of her father.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Agra - Dausa
Morning, drive to Dausa. Arrive Dausa &
check in at hotel Bhadrawati Palace. Bhadrawati Palace is a heritage property
with a fascinating history.It dates back to the 11th century. Overnight
at hotel.
Day 4: Dausa - Jaipur
Morning, drive to Jaipur. Arrive Jaipur
and check in at hotel. Afternoon visit of the bazaars of Jaipur. Overnight
at hotel.
Day 5: Jaipur
Morning, sightseeing tour and visit to Amber
Fort. Amber fort was the ancient capital of state until 1728. See the
Sheesh Mahal or the hall of victory glittering with mirrors, Jal Mahal
and Kali Temple. Ascend on elephant back, the hill on which fort is situated.
City sightseeing tour, Jaipur the capital of Rajasthan was given a color
coat of pink a century ago in honor of a visiting prince. Ever since it
had retained that color. Built by maharaja Jai Singh, the notable astronomer,
this city is 260 years old. Visit the Maharaja's city palace and the observatory
and drive past Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Jaipur - Deogarh
Morning, drive to Deogarh. Arrive Deogarh
& check in at hotel. The Deogarh Castle is located on a hillock and
is encircled by the town. It was built in 1670 ad by Rawat Dwarkadasji
of the Chundawat clan of the Siaodia Dynasty. Constructed by the famed
Sompura architects, well-known for there additions and alterations were
carried out according to the needs of the residents. There are five floors
and over 200 rooms have murals done by local painters after whom Deogarh
school of painting has acquired fame the world over. The family has a
large collection of Deogarh miniatures. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7: Deogarh - Udaipur
Morning, drive to Udaipur. Arrive Udaipur
& check in at hotel. Afternoon sightseeing of Udaipur visiting the
City Palace, Jagdish Temple, drive around Fatehsagar Lake, Shaelion Ki
Bari (queen's resort for her friends) and Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandir (folk
art museum). Rest the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8: Udaipur - Luni
Morning, drive to Luni. Arrive Luni and
check in at hotel Fort Chanwa 35 Kms away from Jodhpur. Belonging to Maharaja
Dilip Singh, the youngest son of Maharaja Umaid Sing Ji of Jodhpur. It
is an imposing and well maintained structure over a hundred years old
built of famous red sand stone of Jodhpur and ornately carved lattice
work, friezes and intricate jharokhas. Its traditional gates lead to a
complex of courtyards, towers, water wheels stables, passages and unexpected
stairways leading to secret pavilions and panoramic terraces. The small
village is home to many artisans who work with metal, clay or wood, keeping
alive the skills passed down over the centuries by their ancestor. The
noise and bustle of the village settles down by evening and all is quite
as peace descends on the desert. The fort with its huge gates and protective
walls stands proud and strong under the spectacular company of stars.

Day 9: Luni - Khimsar
Morning, drive to Khimsar. Arrive Khimsar
and check in at hotel. Khimsar is steeped in history- founded 2500 years
ago by the Jain Saint Mahaveer, this is the starting point of the great
Indian Desert tours. The founder of the castle, which was built in mid
15th century was Prince Karamsi, son of Jodhpur and very close to other
places of interest like Osian and Nagaur. Well managed Khmisar Fort provides
the visitors with all modern amenities- 50 luxuriously furnished rooms,
theme dinners, a variety of continental and Indian meals as well as traditional
Rajasthani meals are available. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Khimsar - Mandawa
Morning, drive to Mandawa, en route visit
Nagaur. On arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon sightseeing of Mandawa.
Visit Mandawa. Mandawa, founded in 1775 by Thakur Nawal Singh and still
the home of his descendants, has beautiful frescoes, havelis and mansions.
Mandawa Castle, one of the finest castles of Rajasthan, is now a hotel
and houses a collection of armories, costumes of ancestors, canons, ancient
coins and many other interesting items preserved in a Museum. Overnight
at hotel.
Day 11: Mandawa - Delhi
Morning, drive to Delhi. Arrive Delhi and
check in at hotel. Afternoon city tour of Old & New Delhi. Sightseeing
of Old and New Delhi visiting Qutub Minar. India Gate (war memorial) ,
Laxmi Narayan Temple (modern Hindu Temple), drive past President's Palace,
Parliament House and Secretariat Building. Visit Raj Ghat and Shanti Van,
the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Jama Masjid
and drive past the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk market. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12: Delhi
Spend the day at leisure and depart to international
airport for onward journey. |
